Marvell agrees to acquire Lumentum to expand AI connectivity capabilities 🏢 Marvell announced an all-stock agreement to acquire Lumentum at an implied enterprise value of $115 billion. Each Lumentum share will be exchanged for 4.5 Marvell shares. 🔗 The deal combines Marvell’s chip and connectivity capabilities with Lumentum’s lasers and optical components, supporting demand for faster, more energy-efficient data transmission in AI data centers. 📉 In early trading on November 2, Lumentum shares fell more than 10% and Marvell dropped over 5%, amid investor caution over the deal’s valuation and the sustainability of AI spending. ⚙️ Marvell expects more than $1 billion in annual cost savings and adjusted EPS accretion in the first year after closing. These remain company projections. ⏳ Completion is expected in the first half of 2028, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. Long-term results will depend on AI infrastructure demand and successful integration. #AIInfrastructure
