$15,682 shorting $QQQ today. Both entries came well after the top was in... The money was in the pullbacks. Gapped down under yesterday's close and never traded back above it. The opening range set the box, roughly 698 to 694. Here's what the day actually did, step by step: Gap down → bounce into 30 min ORB high→ failed break above, first arrow → range low breaks → pullback into the ribbon → rolls over, second arrow → trend What I wait for on a day like this: my indicator does all this for me: -Ribbon pointing down and price trading under it -Orange candles pulling back into it with no follow through -The first red candle that closes back under the pullback low That candle is the entry Both arrows on the chart are that exact moment. One inside the range, one after the low broke. Stop goes over the pullback high, not over the high of the day Most traders chase the first red candle off the open and get stopped on the retrace Or they wait for 694 to break and sell the low of the move The range tells you where the day decides The pullback tells you WHEN sellers are back Stop trying to short the high of the day Start letting the trend come to you
