Something from today's Spaces stuck with me. We were discussing what actually makes a great memecoin. My answer was basically: The meme + the team. The person who spoke after me added community. And he was right. I left out one of the most important pieces. The rarest memes aren't simply funny. They make people FEEL something. People identify with them. They create for them. They defend them. They tell their friends about them. Sometimes they literally tattoo the damn thing on their bodies. When a meme is compelling enough to create an organic community, you've found something rare. But I've been thinking about it since the Space, and I actually think the framework has evolved even further. Because this cycle has variables that weren't nearly as important before. 1. THE MEME Does it have that magic? Can someone understand it immediately? Does it create an emotion strong enough to turn a spectator into a participant? 2. THE COMMUNITY Is it organic? Are people creating, evangelizing and participating because they genuinely care? A real community can become an enormous distribution engine. 3. THE TEAM This still matters tremendously. Someone has to manage the treasury. Build relationships. Talk to exchanges. Deal with market makers. Create partnerships. Manage liquidity. And keep executing once the initial excitement disappears. 4. THE CONTENT This one has become MUCH more important. Especially VIDEO. The best projects aren't just memes anymore. They're becoming entertainment brands. Great content keeps holders interested when the chart isn't moving. It gives the community something to share. And compelling video can reach millions of people who would never search for the token themselves. That's distribution. 5. THE ECONOMICS What does the project actually offer once someone arrives? Rewards? Buybacks? Burns? Games? Holder incentives? Treasury mechanics? A good meme can acquire attention. Good economics can help retain it. 6. AND NOW, FOR MEMESTOCKS: THE PAIRING This is an entirely new wrinkle. What stock is the meme paired with? Amazon? Apple? Nvidia? Micron? Does the pairing actually make sense? Because that stock already has its own enormous audience, narrative and community. A great memestock potentially gets access to two worlds at once: The meme community… and the community surrounding the company it's paired with. That's something previous meme cycles barely had to consider. So I've updated the framework I personally use when deciding whether a meme deserves more than a trade: **MEME COMMUNITY TEAM CONTENT ECONOMICS DISTRIBUTION / PAIRING** Any one of those can create a pump. Two or three can create a very successful project. But finding one where everything reinforces everything else? That's rare. And those are the ones I'm interested in finding early. Because eventually you're no longer looking at just a memecoin. You're looking at a brand, a community, a content engine and an economic network wrapped around a meme. That was the part of today's conversation I didn't have enough time to say. So consider this my addendum. 😬
