✈️ Delta chose Amazon’s Leo satellite service over Starlink for its next-generation in-flight Wi-Fi, with rollout not starting until 2028 on an initial 500 aircraft. Today Elon Musk posted that “Delta will lose a lot of customers” over the decision. Right now Delta uses Viasat (free for SkyMiles members on most flights), but passengers frequently report slow or unreliable connections, especially on longer routes. Meanwhile competitors like United already have Starlink on more than 600 planes and aim for full-fleet coverage by the end of 2027.
