Securitize builds Wall Street credentials with SEC adviser license as tokenization expands
Tokenization infrastructure provider Securitize has significantly strengthened its regulatory credentials after its subsidiary, Securitize Capital, officially registered as an investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This newly acquired license expands the company's full-stack compliance framework, which already incorporates an approved broker-dealer, a transfer agent, and an alternative trading system. The regulatory milestone arrives as federal watchdogs actively weigh rules for onchain portfolio management tools.
The expanded advisory status allows the New York Stock Exchange-listed firm to remove previous capital caps and work much more closely with institutional managers exploring blockchain-based investment strategies. Securitize already serves as the core tokenization partner for financial giants like Apollo, KKR, and VanEck. Crucially, the platform manages BlackRock’s flagship BUIDL tokenized money market fund, which currently commands over $2.6 billion in assets under management.
Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo highlighted that the registration provides a broader corporate foundation to build compliant onchain strategies that satisfy strict traditional finance obligations. By combining advisory capabilities with its existing blockchain architecture, the firm is positioning itself to lead the next generation of internet-native capital markets. This systemic push ensures that institutions can seamlessly launch tokenized vaults while adhering closely to the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
