Standard Chartered-Backed Anchorpoint Set to Launch HKDAP Stablecoin
Anchorpoint Financial, a joint venture backed by Standard Chartered Hong Kong, HKT, and Animoca Brands, is preparing to launch the HKD At Par (HKDAP) stablecoin. The Hong Kong dollar-pegged token is scheduled for release by late July 2026, marking a significant step in the region's digital asset ecosystem, say reports. This initiative follows the Hong Kong Monetary Authority granting Anchorpoint a stablecoin issuer license, validating its adherence to local regulatory standards under the Stablecoins Ordinance.
The venture completed a comprehensive lifecycle test on the Ethereum mainnet, covering reserve backing, minting, and redemption, confirming technical readiness without public circulation. With a focus on institutional adoption, the project aims to integrate with real-world financial systems, utilizing a B2B2C model for regional deployment.
Primary distribution for the HKDAP token is expected to occur through licensed platforms such as HashKey Exchange and OSL Group. The initiative is designed to enhance financial infrastructure by streamlining cross-border payments and offering robust settlement layers for tokenized economic assets.
