The team stated that Loopring was among the first projects to demonstrate that zero-knowledge proofs could scale Ethereum. However, factors such as its non-EVM architecture, limited user base, weak business development efforts, and the delisting of the LRC token from multiple exchanges in 2026 led to the decision to shut down. Before fully ceasing operations, Loopring will disclose users’ final balances and directly refund assets worth $10 or more to their corresponding Ethereum L1 addresses—all gas fees covered by the team.
