Is Bitcoin crashing because of Microstrategy ? No. but the fear behind the question is worth understanding.. the story goes like this Strategy raised billions through a preferred stock called STRC, paying about 11.5% a year, and used the cash to buy bitcoin the catch, STRC can't be re issued below $100, and it's now sitting around $84 so that fundraising tap is off. no fresh cash means no new bitcoin buying, and the market is scared the $1.3 billion a year they owe in dividends forces them to start selling bitcoin instead. and they did sell a small amount already, the first time since 2022. that's what lit the fuse. but trimming a little to cover dividends is a long way from bitcoin crashing because of strategy. they hold over 800,000 bitcoin, around $50 billion, against that $1.3 billion of yearly payouts and roughly $8 billion of debt that carries no margin call and nothing due until 2028. they can cover those dividends for years, even by selling bitcoin slowly, without ever being forced into a fire sale. so the honest answer.. strategy is more symptom than cause. their pullback removes a buyer, sure, but bitcoin's drop is what put them in this spot, not the reverse. if you want the thing actually moving bitcoin right now, watch the macro, not michael saylor.
