The regulatory landscape for crypto is being rewritten in real time. The GENIUS Act sets the first US federal framework for stablecoins with rules due by July. The CLARITY Act passed the House 294-134 and is advancing through the Senate, finally drawing clear lines between SEC and CFTC jurisdiction. In March, the SEC and CFTC jointly confirmed that staking is not a securities transaction. Meanwhile, the EU hits full MiCA enforcement on July 1, Japan opens its market to foreign stablecoins on June 1, and Dubai and Abu Dhabi continue to attract institutional capital with clear licensing frameworks. 2026 is the year crypto regulation goes from ambiguous to architected.
