$HIVE +28% Today 🌊🌱 Great to see a massive move in $HIVE! Since I started researching Bitcoin miners who successfully pivoted to AI infrastructure and high-performance data centres, this has been my favourite company operationally. However, it hasn't always been my favourite investment. I have only periodically traded it, not because I didn’t believe in the vision, but because the stock historically struggled to hold long-term momentum and institutional eyes. I largely put this down to it being an international name navigating a fragmented dual-listing structure. Even before I adjusted my personal focus to lean aggressively into ethical assets, the sustainable footprint of $HIVE really stood out to me. Their entire data centre fleet across Canada, Paraguay, Sweden, and Iceland is built directly on low-cost, 100% renewable energy. Primarily green hydroelectric and geothermal power. Double Catalyst Today, the market finally sat up and paid attention. We saw an explosive +28% vertical move on the back of a massive dual catalyst: 🇨🇦 The Toronto Gigafactory: Their subsidiary, BUZZ HPC, announced a massive CAD $3.5B, 320 MW AI Gigafactory in the Greater Toronto Area to host over 100,000 GPUs. Crucially for the ESG thesis, it's designed with a closed-loop cooling system with no water consumption. 💰 The Leopold Position: Almost simultaneously, institutional filings revealed that prominent former OpenAI researcher turned hedge-fund manager Leopold Aschenbrenner disclosed a fresh percentage stake in the company, providing massive validation to their sovereign AI cloud strategy. Unfortunately, I am largely out of the name right now. Regardless though, watching a green infrastructure story get rewarded is exactly what I like to see.
