BTC at a Crossroads: Will CPI Spark the Breakout?
Bitcoin is trading at $77,270 on the 4H chart, fighting to recover from a sharp drop to $76,000. The last two candles are green, and the MACD is flashing a subtle bullish crossover (DIF above DEA at 5.0), suggesting bearish momentum is fading. However, the RSI sits below 50 (44.79), and the price is struggling to reclaim the EMA7 ($77,304) and EMA14 ($77,528). Volume remains thin, and the 24h high of $79,900 acts as a major ceiling.
This technical indecision perfectly mirrors the macro picture. Nonfarm payrolls beat expectations, but the real test is CPI. If CPI cools, BTC could break above $78,000 and target $79,900. If CPI runs hot, expect a retest of the $76,000 support.
My stance: Cautiously bullish. I’m holding spot BTC as a core position, using the trade sharing widget to track my exposure. No leverage before the data — risk management first.
Your turn: Hike or hold? Bullish or bearish?
