🚨 POLICE SEARCH MINNEAPOLIS APARTMENT LINKED TO ILHAN OMAR’S SON, ARREST ROOMMATE ON WEAPONS CHARGE.
MINNEAPOLIS, UNITED STATES - Minneapolis police executed a search warrant at an apartment linked to the son of a sitting member of Congress, recovering firearms and ammunition before arresting his roommate on a weapons charge. Officers entered the Marquette Avenue residence late Tuesday after a traffic stop earlier in the day drew attention to 22-year-old Abdulrahman Abdi, who was cited for driving without insurance and a valid license. When the vehicle was impounded, police found a firearm inside, prompting them to track Abdi to the apartment.
Law enforcement records show Abdi has been arrested around ten times, mostly for driving-related offenses, and was previously convicted of a felony after being clocked at 108 miles per hour in St. Paul in 2024. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into Hennepin County Jail before being released the following night.
Multiple reports say the apartment is associated with Adnan Hirsi, the son of Rep. Ilhan Omar, though police have not confirmed his residence there. Officers have not alleged any wrongdoing by Hirsi, and no charges have been filed against him. The department has also not specified the types or quantities of weapons recovered.
The search and arrest come amid heightened public scrutiny of Omar’s family, following earlier unrelated encounters her son had with federal immigration authorities.
