Bitcoin’s quantum-security debate is moving from theory into actual testing. 🧑💻 In a single day, researchers demonstrated two different approaches aimed at protecting #Bitcoin against the long-term risk posed by quantum computers - without suggesting that the network is under an immediate threat. One path focuses on post-quantum signatures, replacing today’s vulnerable cryptographic assumptions with algorithms designed to resist #quantum attacks. The other explores ways to lock or migrate coins before quantum-capable machines become powerful enough to derive private keys from exposed public keys. The important part: Bitcoin does not need a quantum computer to exist today for developers to prepare for one tomorrow. Quantum computing is still far from breaking Bitcoin in practice, but these tests show the ecosystem is already thinking seriously about what a future migration could look like - and how to make it happen without compromising Bitcoin’s security model.
