US and UK treasuries are aligning transatlantic rules on tokenization and stablecoins. Regulatory alignment → Institutional comfort. Institutional comfort → Bank-issued stablecoins. Bank stablecoins → Tokenized Treasuries at scale. Tokenized Treasuries → 24/7 dollar collateral. 24/7 dollar collateral → Capital markets migrate onchain. This is not about crypto hype. This is about the plumbing of the dollar system moving rails. I am watching the 2025 US stablecoin law rollout and inflows into tokenized T-bill products. When size hits those vehicles, the repricing begins. Most people will realize too late this was the moment the dollar went programmable. Others are selling noise or farming engagement. I map the sequence before it is obvious. Follow if you want real macro alpha ⚡

🌍 REGULATORY COOPERATION: 🤝 U.S. and U.K. align on digital finance The United States and the United Kingdom have taken a new step toward greater coordination on digital assets by publishing 10 joint recommendations aimed at aligning approaches to stablecoins, tokenization and blockchain-based financial markets. The document comes from the Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future, created in 2025, and seeks to establish a shared direction for the development of digital finance across the Atlantic. Five of the recommendations focus directly on digital assets. They include proposals to improve regulatory alignment, advance tokenized markets and explore how stablecoins and tokenized money market funds could be used as collateral within traditional financial infrastructures. Although the recommendations are not legally binding, they represent an effort to reduce regulatory differences between two of the world’s largest financial centers. Both countries are also developing their own frameworks, with the U.S. advancing the GENIUS Act and the U.K. preparing its crypto asset regime for 2027. The initiative reflects a broader regulatory competition around digital finance. While Europe already has MiCA as a comprehensive framework, Washington and London are seeking to create an environment where digital assets can integrate with existing capital markets. However, the alignment does not yet create automatic mutual recognition. A stablecoin approved in one jurisdiction will still need to meet the regulatory requirements of the other before operating there.

🌍 REGULATORY COOPERATION: 🤝 U.S. and U.K. Align on the Digital Future The United States and the United Kingdom have taken a further step toward greater coordination on digital assets by releasing ten joint recommendations to align their approaches to stablecoins, tokenization, and blockchain-based financial markets. The document emerges from the Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future, established in 2025, and aims to establish a shared direction between the two countries to facilitate the development of digital finance across the Atlantic. Five of the recommendations focus directly on digital assets, including proposals to enhance regulatory interoperability, advance tokenized markets, and explore the use of stablecoins and tokenized money market funds as collateral within traditional financial infrastructures. Although the recommendations are non-binding, they represent an effort to reduce regulatory disparities between two of the world’s most important financial centers. Both countries are also developing their own frameworks: the U.S. with the GENIUS Act and the U.K. with its planned cryptoassets regime set for 2027. The agreement reflects a new phase in global regulatory competition. While Europe has already established MiCA as a comprehensive framework, Washington and London are seeking to build an environment where digital assets can integrate with existing capital markets. However, alignment does not yet imply automatic mutual recognition. A stablecoin approved in one jurisdiction will still need to meet the regulatory requirements of the other to operate.

🚨🇪🇺 The ECB moves to the pilot phase of the digital euro. Thirty-six payment providers have been selected from over 50 applicants for a 12-month real-world test, set to begin in the second half of 2027. Among the selected: Deutsche Bank, UniCredit, France’s BPCE, as well as Revolut, Stripe, and Adyen. The pilot will cover distribution and acquisition, peer-to-peer and merchant payments, both online and in physical stores—online and offline. The stated goal by Isabel Schnabel: to safeguard central bank money amid the rise of stablecoins, predominantly backed by the U.S. dollar, and to reduce Europe’s dependence on non-European payment providers. A first issuance remains possible by 2029, provided the European regulation is adopted by 2026. Meanwhile, Washington has closed the door to any U.S. CBDC.

🇺🇸🆕 Regulation The governments of the United Kingdom and the United States have issued a joint statement supporting closer coordination in regulating stablecoins and their use in cross-border payments, settlements, and capital markets. Stablecoins should be backed by high-quality liquid assets at a minimum ratio of 1:1. Reserves should be separated from the issuer's own funds, with timely redemption and clear, protected rights for holders to receive payment in case of insolvency. #stablecoin
