Kenya stablecoin reserve rule clash

Kenya’s Treasury proposed 30% local bank reserves for stablecoin issuers, sparking industry concerns over liquidity and remittance costs.

$GWEI had a huge spike, then a heavy reset, and now it looks like it’s trying to build a cleaner base around 0.13.

That kind of post spike stabilization is where strong reversals often begin. If bulls reclaim short term control from here, this chart can surprise people fast because volatility is clearly already there.

I disagree with @financelancelot… tapering the Fed’s ~$489B short-duration T-bill purchases won’t automatically push short yields higher. If those holdings effectively move to stablecoin issuers as reserves (as they scale issuance), private demand steps in to absorb the supply. Stables are already major buyers of short T-bills - this just accelerates it. On the government side: Fed holdings = net zero interest cost (Treasury pays Fed, Fed remits back). Stablecoin holders = Treasury pays interest out, but gets corporate tax revenue back on the issuers’ T-bill income. Plus the extra demand suppresses yields across the short end, expanding fiscal space. Net: better supply/demand balance, lower effective borrowing costs for the Treasury, and more tax revenue from stablecoin profits. Stables provide a structural bid the Fed was previously filling. This isn’t upward pressure… it’s market absorption replacing central bank absorption. $XRP, the clear winner of stablecoins and payments, is proving to be the answer to global liquidity problems. The off-ramp exists and is known by the people in charge.

The OUSD Stablecoin Alliance has chosen Solana as its native launch chain, with Visa, Coinbase, and Stripe all among its members. A quiet but significant development. The Open USD (OUSD) Stablecoin Alliance, comprising over 140 companies including Visa, Coinbase, and Stripe, has selected Solana as its native launch chain. The official launch is expected later this year. Why does this matter? · Visa represents traditional payment infrastructure · Coinbase represents the largest compliant crypto exchange · Stripe represents one of the world’s largest payment processors Their collective choice of Solana is no coincidence. Take a look at today’s on-chain metrics: · Solana processes over 100 million transactions daily · 4.3 million daily active users · Raydium’s cumulative annual trading volume: $360 billion Network activity is approaching annual highs, yet the token price remains around $80. Such a divergence rarely lasts long. #Solana #DeFi
