Ethereum state storage debate

Ethereum state size grows 553 MiB daily, nearing 390 GiB. EIP-8037 aims to curb growth by raising contract deployment costs. Vitalik Buterin rejects user-storage workaround.

BlackRock and Fidelity Increasingly Bullish on Crypto Large financial institutions like BlackRock, Coinbase, and Fidelity are increasingly optimistic about the future of global crypto. Their primary focus is now on stablecoins, real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, artificial intelligence (AI), and increasingly clear crypto regulations in the US and Europe. Fidelity even predicts that more countries will start buying Bitcoin as a national reserve, while Ethereum is expected to continue to dominate the asset tokenization sector and the growth of institutional crypto ETFs.

ethereum:native sharply reversed into a decline right after Fundstrat head and BitMine chairman Tom Lee told CNBC that ETH’s current valuation is inadequate for the current market conditions - and that the next 12–18 months could be the most explosive period of unstoppable growth ahead

Oil is quietly becoming one of the most important charts to watch if you’re long $ETH The chart is hard to ignore. Crude has been grinding higher since the war began. ETH moved the other way. Now back near $2,100 and still far from its cycle highs. WTI and Brent pushed higher again after Trump’s Strait of Hormuz comments. ETF outflows are adding pressure. Exchange reserves are rising. Whales are distributing. ETH is still underperforming BTC. But the structural case is not dead. 60%+ RWA market share. BlackRock and JPMorgan live on Ethereum. Agentic AI payment rails still point back to ETH. So the real question is simple: Does oil peak before the market loses patience with the thesis?

How many years did people warn the Ethereum Foundation that high gas prices would be the downfall of ETH? And somehow they still managed to do nothing to stop this.

🚨 $ETH just got handed the ultimate regulatory edge with the CLARITY Act, and most alt-L1s are getting left in the dust. This bill lays out a straight-up 5-point decentralization checklist: open-source code, fully permissionless, no one group controlling 49%+ of supply, zero censorship power, and the network runs itself without any team flipping switches. Ethereum nails every single one. Clean pass. Solana? Barely scraping by at best. Sui, Hedera, Tron, and pretty much every “ETH killer” out there? They fail hard on insider control, upgrade authority, or token concentration. Under this framework, $ETH gets slotted in the top tier, treated like Bitcoin as a true digital commodity under CFTC rules. No more SEC gray area hanging over it. No artificial price caps tied to “fundamentals” like the rest. The two biggest $ETH bear cases (regulatory risk + getting outpaced by faster chains) just got wiped out overnight. While everyone’s still arguing over TPS and narratives, Ethereum quietly locked in the only structural moat that actually matters long-term.

gm. catching up from the weekend our CEO @GetVasily joined a strong panel on Saturday at @ns Ethereum Month: @Jihoz_Axie, Axie Infinity & Ronin @makoto_inoue, Ethereum Name Service @_ryandesouza, Arbitrum (or is it Offchain now?) Walked out with a longer to-do list than we walked in with.

Aave on MegaETH is already showing real credit demand. In less than a month, the market scaled to over $1B in deposits, with active loans reaching ~$414M. Deposits show liquidity is there. Active loans show users are actually borrowing against it. That’s what matters. New ecosystems need credit from day one, and Aave brings the liquidity, risk infrastructure, and distribution to make that possible. MegaETH is still early, but the market is already becoming productive. Aave keeps moving closer to becoming the credit layer for every major onchain economy. Data via @Token_Logic

🚨 Ethereum faces a critical challenge 🚨 The network's state has grown to 390 GiB and could reach 650 GiB in 1.6 years. This increases hardware costs for running nodes. EIP-8037 aims to raise gas costs to slow this expansion. Vitalik Buterin rejects temporary solutions that shift the burden. Ethereum’s sustainability and decentralization are at stake. The future of its infrastructure may depend on this discussion.
