Quantum risk concerns Bitcoin

April 13, Bernstein said Bitcoin’s quantum risk is real but manageable, not an imminent systemic threat. Developers have 3-5 years to implement upgrades like BIP-360.

🚨 Now: Peter Schiff says, "If you have any Bitcoin, sell it now and buy gold and silver" as Bitcoin's price approaches $75,000.

Happy World Quantum Day $HBAR'barians 🌐 🤓 NERD FACT: April 14 was chosen because "4.14" represents the rounded first three digits of Planck’s constant (4.14 × 10⁻¹⁵ eV·s). Learn how the @hedera network is preparing to be resistant to quantum computer attacks ⬇️

Crazy Reddit Finds #18: A founder spoke about how we've been sharing the wrong success metric... He said his company had been tracking MRR religiously for six months, posting milestones from the dashboard But then they subtracted their actual expenses and suddenly the real numbers were a lot less impressive... Tool costs alone were $80-90/mo. Here is what stood out: - Every founder community celebrates MRR. Stripe screenshots with a number highlighted blow up all the time. - But $3K MRR with $2K in expenses is a fundamentally different business than $3K MRR with $200 in expenses. - The expenses that erode margin are not from bad hires or failed campaigns anymore. It's these $5 and $20 subscriptions that stack across tools and projects. Now let's recalculate but this time, revenue minus all tools, hosting, fees, contractors, everything...

Circle dropped a full post-quantum roadmap for @arc and frens, this is actually kind of a big deal. Most L1s are still treating quantum resistance like a "future problem." Arc is baking it in before mainnet. That's a rare move. Here's what the roadmap actually says: Phase 1 — ships at mainnet launch (2026): opt-in post-quantum wallet signatures using CRYSTALS-Dilithium (ML-DSA) and Falcon. Both NIST-finalized in August 2024. No forced migration. You choose when to upgrade. Phase 2 — private state protection. Quantum-resistant encryption for balances, confidential payments, recipient data. Not just wallets. The full private layer gets covered. Phase 3 — validator hardening. PQ signatures are 2-10x larger than ECDSA, so this phase waits for performance testing and tooling. Legit engineering caution, not delay for delay's sake. Phase 4 — offchain infrastructure. Cloud environments, HSMs, communication protocols, access controls. Full-stack, not just onchain. Why now? Google research said a powerful quantum computer could break Bitcoin's cryptography in ~9 minutes. Caltech researchers put the timeline at before 2030. "Harvest now, decrypt later" attacks are already live — someone can collect your signed transactions today and crack them when the hardware exists. Arc's sub-second finality actually helps here too. A 500ms block window leaves attackers almost nothing to work with on validator signatures. Well, the tradeoff is real — PQ signatures are bigger and heavier. Circle acknowledges it directly. But Bitcoin has no active PQ migration path. Ethereum is still at research stage. Arc is the only major L1 building this into architecture from day one. Goldman, Visa, Mastercard are already design partners on Arc. Institutional money doesn't tolerate "we'll figure it out later" on cryptographic security. The testnet is live. The roadmap is public. Mainnet comes in 2026. Also — @circle launched an onchain campaign connected to Arc ecosystem activity. If you haven't been active on testnet yet, now's a reasonable time to look at it. No promises, just real protocol activity. What's your read on PQ resistance as a moat for new L1s? Drop below.

GM Brothers and Sisters ✅Bitcoin’s Recent ~50% Drawdown Has Already “Priced In” Quantum Computing Risk Bernstein analysts believe that Bitcoin’s drop of nearly 50% from its all-time high of $126,198 in October 2025 has already reflected much of the market’s fear regarding quantum computing threats The sell-off shows that quantum risk has largely been “priced in,” rather than being purely driven by panic ✅Timeline for the Quantum Threat to Bitcoin Bernstein estimates that Bitcoin still has 3 to 5 years to prepare and implement a post-quantum security upgrade In a theoretical scenario, a future quantum computer could crack a Bitcoin private key in just 9 minutes — faster than Bitcoin’s average 10-minute block time ✅Technical Threshold for Quantum Computers According to Google researchers cited in the report, certain quantum architectures could break the elliptic curve cryptography used in Bitcoin and many blockchains with fewer than 500,000 physical qubits Approximately 8% of the Bitcoin supply held in long-inactive addresses remains relatively vulnerable, even if proposals like BIP-360 are implemented ✅Mitigation Measures and Positive Developments The report highlights progress in zero-knowledge privacy technology and quantum-resistant cryptography as effective ways to counter the threat. Technical upgrades are not difficult — one expert noted, “The coding work could be done this afternoon” However, the real challenge lies in achieving social consensus and executing a full-network key migration ✅Role of Institutional Investors Bernstein expects institutions holding large amounts of Bitcoin to play a key constructive role in building consensus for post-quantum upgrades, as they now have billions of dollars at stake and strong incentives to act ---------------- Plan accordingly & Choose wisely ✨May your life radiant with Bitcoin✨

🚨 Two top Ethereum ZK L2s just announced cost-cutting moves on the same day @Starknet is downsizing its team and switching to “startup mode.” They want to move faster, cut waste, and focus on real revenue and usage instead of just building the best tech. @Scroll_ZKP is dissolving its Security Council and handing admin control to a simple multisig. The council cost more than it was used, so they’re redirecting that money to build products and drive growth. Both teams basically admit the same thing: the ZK tech is mature… but the real products and users still aren't there. Importantly, this isn’t bad news for Ethereum. On the contrary, L2 teams are finally moving beyond simply being “Ethereum scalers.” As Ethereum’s own scaling improves rapidly, L2s must now create unique value and sustainable businesses.

Good night 🌙 CT top tier contributors I’ve done my part. It’s really amazing to see my efforts count on @XOOBNetwork & @3look_io — no wasted efforts 🙌 Now I want to view @quipnetwork from a different angle for y’all. I know we already know what $Quip is, but I’ll break it down more so you get the full picture. Quip is not one thing. It’s two tools you can use together or apart. Tool 1 is the Quip Network: a new chain where mining does useful work. Instead of burning power on random math, your computer or quantum machine solves real problems like route planning, packing, or scheduling. You get paid in QUIP for answers people want. Tool 2 is the Asset Layer: a safety lock you add to any crypto you already hold. It works on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, or any chain. It protects your coins from future quantum hacks with no need to move chains or buy new hardware. Just add the lock. Both tools use the same QUIP token and the same network. You choose what you need: - Only want to earn from mining? Run your machines on the Quip Network. - Only want safety? Add the quantum lock to your wallet. How does it work? QUIP Account: You put coins in a vault. Every move uses a one-time key. That chain of keys proves it’s you. Even if the chain splits, your money stays safe. Interlock: Swap coins across chains without bridges. Two people trade by locking the deal. If both complete their part, the swap happens. If not, both get refunds. No middleman. QPoW Mining: Miners solve real jobs, not fake puzzles. They post several good answers to prove quality. The best work wins. Marketplace: A pipeline where people can plug in their own tools and get paid when others use them. It starts with optimization jobs, with random numbers and search coming next. So Quip keeps your crypto safe from quantum computers and pays you for useful work instead of wasting energy. Which part of these layers of Quip are you likely to test first?

If quantum computing breaks current cryptography, most of crypto is exposed overnight. @QANplatform is one of the few projects actually preparing for that reality.
Underrated doesn’t even begin to cover it.
