A partner firm asked us a simple question: can a client's crypto land in NetSuite? 🤔 Our engineering team built it, and it went live last week. Summ Business now syncs crypto journal entries to NetSuite. It joins Xero, QuickBooks and SoftLedger, so finance teams can keep crypto in the same ledger as everything else. If your clients run NetSuite and hold crypto, we'd like to hear from you.

Myth: your broker's 1099-DA decides which coins you sold. Rule, for 2026: if you identified the units in your own records at the time, the IRS says your records control, even if your broker's numbers don't match. That's Notice 2026-20 🇺🇸

In 2024 you bought 1 ETH for A$2,000. This year you swapped it for SOL worth A$5,000 🇦🇺 You didn't cash out. You still made a A$3,000 capital gain, because a swap is a disposal. Held over 12 months, half of it goes on your return: A$1,500. Your $SOL starts life with a A$5,000 cost base.

Negative gearing changes on 1 July 2027 🇦🇺 👉 Held an investment property before 7:30pm AEST, 12 May 2026: no change 👉 Bought an established home after that: its losses only offset residential property income, the rest carries forward 👉 New builds: no change Shares and crypto aren't caught by this one. Their 2027 change is the 50% CGT discount making way for indexation. Which side of 12 May did you buy on?

Someone took profit on half of their $KIMCHI bag. The part the screenshot doesn't show: selling 49% of the bag uses 49% of the cost base. So the sale is measured against about 3.94 SOL of the original 8, and the other 4.06 SOL stays with the tokens still held. One half is already a disposal. The other is still an open position.

A year ago, CryptoTaxCalculator became Summ. We decided on the rebrand because the old name only described part of what people were bringing to us. A year on, crypto, shares and ETFs sit in one portfolio, and the report at the end works the way it always has. If you've been with us since the old name, thank you. 🤝

We're excited to announce a new partnership between @WebullAU and Summ, just in time for tax season. Webull gives Australians access to local and global shares, ETFs, crypto and more. Summ is Australian made and owned tax software for shares and crypto, built around ATO guidelines. Together, we're making the investment side of tax time simpler. Webull clients can export their transaction history and upload it to Summ, which can assist in preparing tax information for their tax return or tax accountant. With the 31 October 2026 deadline coming up, Webull clients get 30% off their first year of Summ. Learn More: https://t.co/DbdP6yDdWD
