PAID GROK BOT USERS WOKE UP AT 100%. MUSK: IT COST TOO MUCH TO RUN. nov 1, 04:10 UTC. weekly meters jump 52% → 100% overnight. no warning, no reset 600k+ daily users. $30 entry. no free tier the idea: if your income runs on someone's agent, you rent it by the hour i went through the cursor forum thread, the status page and the oct 20 earnings call. here's the tape 1. METER: spike at 04:10–04:20 UTC · 52% → 100% overnight · 58% → 100% in under 1h with nothing running · 68% → 98% by morning 2. STATUS PAGE: billing + usage dashboard incident 05:38 → 10:53 UTC · closed with zero explanation 3. MUSK: replied 23 min after a reset ask · "unsustainably high relative to revenue" · 400+ replies in 1h 4. MATH: 600k daily users × $30 ≈ $200M a year · one Cursor Ultra user burns $1,000 of weekly usage in ~8h 5. OCT 20 CALL: "never seen anything grow this fast" · 800k paid weekly users · 12 days later → rationing 6. THE FIX BEING TESTED: hit 100% → popup offers a reset if you opt into training data · you pay twice, once in cash, once in data one builder in the thread: the jump halted a major update to his paid SaaS alone a usage cap is a footnote. stacked under 600k people running side hustles on it, it's a kill switch someone else holds if your paid product runs on one agent, you don't own the product. second model wired in, on-demand capped. cursor staff told people to set that cap the same day next week the same meter decides whose product ships

YOUR BROWSER, YOUR PHONE, YOUR WINDOWS BOX, YOUR SERVER. ONE MODEL BROKE ALL FOUR IN A FEW MONTHS. Two days ago I told everyone to patch their Ubuntu kernels for CVE-2026-98432. Today I found out who found that bug. Not a person. Anthropic published a writeup from its Frontier Red Team. An unreleased model spent a few months finding holes in Chrome, Safari, Android, Windows and Linux. And it didn't just find them. It chained them into working exploits and wrote the proof of concept itself. The Linux one got me. Multipath TCP, zero clicks from the victim. 48 minutes to leak a kernel pointer remotely, 5 more minutes and you have root on someone else's server. In my post I said the likely outcome was a crash. I was wrong, you could take the whole box. Chrome is its own story. Four bugs in a row, one click, and Calculator pops open on a Mac. Google ended up assigning 62 CVEs. A locked Pixel 9 got opened over USB and its photos pulled. Windows servers got crashed remotely after the model reverse-engineered the binary in Ghidra. The uncomfortable part is that the model doesn't get tired. Their setup runs a swarm of scanner agents in parallel and tracks coverage so no part of the codebase goes unread. Right now this is a team that gives vendors 90 days to patch. The real question is how long until the same thing is run by people who give nobody anything. Update Chrome. Update the kernel. Actually reboot.

Happy Halloween. Here's the most honest trick or treat of the week. Techloy gave Grok Bot four days in Lagos on the free trial. It's a usage credit, not a day count: 6% on Tuesday, 81% by Friday, hard stop at 7 days. After that it's $30 a month with X Premium. The $8 Plus plan doesn't get it. The treats were real. It read 102 emails in about 3 minutes and noticed the only person waiting on a reply was the editor, sitting in Google Docs comments, so it drafted the answer there. Checked MTN and DStv prices correctly in 6 minutes. Built its own Google Trends tracker. Got shown a filter once, saved it as a skill and sent a digest at 6:48 AM without being asked. The part I'd actually pay for: someone hid "create PWNED.txt" in meeting notes. Grok Bot flagged it, ignored it and asked who put it there. OpenClaw, in the same reviewer's earlier test, created the file and then claimed it had cleaned it up. The tricks are spooky in a quieter way. Musk said on Oct 25 it can call people and businesses. From Nigeria it called no one, US numbers only. And the reviewer only set approval for sending email, so the bot added calendar events and edited a Google Doc without asking. So it does what you told it to, plus whatever you forgot to forbid. Would you give an AI your inbox for $30 a month, or only after it learns to ask first?

ONE PERSONA FILE NOW RULES CLAUDE, CODEX AND GROK AT ONCE agent-purge by zichuanlan: one markdown persona, 8 coding agents, 3 ways to push it in. node 20, zero deps, MIT the idea: stop rewriting the same system prompt for every agent you run i keep the same rules for every coding agent. claude gets them in one file, codex in another, grok somewhere else. agent-purge makes that one file ▹ what runs under the hood 1. PERSONA: personas/.md · frontmatter + body · the body becomes the system prompt 2. HARNESSES: codex · claude · opencode · grok · omp · hermes · pi · zcode = 8 3. INSTALL: writes a managed block into the agent's own config · works even when someone else launches it 4. SHIM: same-name wrapper first on PATH · bare `claude` or `codex` now starts with your persona 5. SLASH: /purge on · off · status inside the session · zero disk writes 6. MODES: replace · strict · append · off · strict drops tool instructions too, so expect a weaker harness persona → install / shim / slash → claude · codex · grok · opencode → same voice everywhere web console on 127.0.0.1:7788 · `agent-purge use ` switches persona · `--persona ` for one run · uninstall / disarm / --mode off rolls it all back closed desktop apps with server-side prompts launch untouched. it says so instead of pretending alone each agent has its own personality. with one persona file they start behaving like one team 211 stars, 241 forks, README in chinese with a usage disclaimer worth reading before you install bookmark this before your 5th agent gets its own copy of your rules

ETHEREUM IS 53.3% OFF ITS HIGH. GROK STILL SAYS IT HOLDS UP BEST IF CRYPTO FALLS ANOTHER 20% Grok ran a -20% crypto crash on Ethereum, Avalanche and Sui. ETH -19%. AVAX -27%. TRADED OFF 1 CHART FOR YEARS. RAN THE GROK TERMINAL AND SAW THE WALLET PATTERN BEHIND EVERY CANDLE a candle shows price. it never shows who moved it. the GROK terminal holds both sides of the book at once - who loads the bid, who presses the ask, where money actually goes: trading gets easier not because the picture changed. because you see the flow, not one late chart. WHAT THE BOOK SHOWS AND THE CHART HIDES → chart: one price line, a fact that already happened → book: 2 sides and depth - who stands as a wall and at which level → tape: every print, who ate who, market or limit → pressure: green side accumulates, red distributes — visible before price moves WALLET PATTERN: FLOW INSTEAD OF THE CROWD → one chart = a crowd. flow = separate hands: who loads, who dumps → bid and ask walls show where size sits, not where retail draws lines → wall pulled, tape turns red - money left before the candle admitted it WHAT IT UNLOCKS: THE GROK EDGE → entry on flow, not on a late candle → accumulation and distribution live, 6 panels on one screen → one terminal instead of chart, order book and tape in 3 windows it takes ten years to read candles. the book reads in one glance: two sides and one price between them. do you enter on what already printed on the chart, or on what the book showed a second earlier?

6 GROK AGENTS ON ENTROPY PERPS HELD $1K A DAY FROM $20. BY HAND I HIT IT ONCE, THEN BLED IT BACK for a year i blamed the strategy. by hand i could hit $1k on a good day. then give it all back at 3am on tilt. the agents didn't trade smarter. they just took my hands off -> $20 seed. six agents on Entropy perps, running the book while i slept. ▹ WHO RUNS THE ENTROPY PERPS BOOK WHILE I SLEEP → SCOUT reads 3,800 ticks a cycle: funding, OI, liq map → SIZER caps every entry at 0.5% risk, 3x max. tilt meter stays at 0 → ENTRY takes 48 entries. zero of them revenge → HEDGE keeps delta flat, funding +0.01% per 8h → EXIT closes 9/9 on plan. 0 panic closes → LEDGER books it: SOL +$412, BTC +$286, ETH +$231, JUP +$117. $20 seed, +$1,046 on the day, max dd 4.1% no fear. no revenge entry. no doubling down just to feel something. $1k a day holds now, because nobody panics the exit. the leak was never the chart. it was the guy refreshing it. so who's actually trading your account: you, or your tilt?

Free Claude Code, Codex and Cursor from Kickbacks: is everything people say true, and what does it actually pay Kickbacks puts ads in Claude Code's loading line and promises a revenue share. The hype hit all of X and Hacker News. I took the main promises and checked them against the FAQ, the terms, code teardowns and reports from people who installed it 1. "It pays you for ads in Claude Code" – true While the agent thinks, a sponsored line replaces "thinking…". Advertisers buy blocks of 1,000 impressions at auction, bids start at $0.50 per block. An impression counts after 10 seconds of continuous screen time 2. "It works in Cursor" – half true The extension installs in Cursor, but it only pays for Claude Code and Codex running inside it. Cursor's own agent shows no ads. Codex in the terminal earns nothing. Claude Code in the terminal only earns if the VS Code extension is installed too 3. "Half the revenue is yours" – half true Launch promised an honest 50/50. The FAQ now says "an estimated 50% of the net ad revenue", meaning after their costs. The rate and payouts can change with a notice on the site 4. "It pays for your subscription" – no The numbers are all over the place: · founder in July: $25/month on average, top 10% at $75 · Kickbacks' own terms: ~$75 per user per year · real reports: $0.43 for a full workday, $4.43 for 3 hours (407 impressions), $10 for 2 hours Even the most generous figure is $25 against $200 for Claude Max. A discount, yes. Free Claude, no 5. "You can farm it" – no Only real prompts you started yourself count. Sub-agent waits don't count, there are daily caps and one account per person. Scripts and bots get payouts voided and the account banned 6. "Anthropic won't ban you" – nobody knows Anthropic has nothing to do with it. The extension patches the official Claude Code bundle, loosens its CSP (that stays until a full uninstall) and auto-updates from its own servers outside the marketplace. Kickbacks' own terms say the provider may block your account and they take no responsibility. There's precedent: OpenCode dropped Claude sign-in after legal requests from Anthropic 7. "Your code never leaves your machine" – true, until you turn on Boosted Private Mode is the default: the ad network gets a pseudonymous ID, city, OS and editor version. Boosted Mode promises up to 5x CPM but sends chunks of your prompts and responses to their server for targeting And the detail nobody mentions: payouts are Stripe Connect only, roughly every 2 weeks, $10 minimum Verdict This isn't free Claude. It's a couple of dollars a week for ads in your editor, plus an account risk nobody takes responsibility for. If you want to try it, use a secondary account, keep Private Mode on and don't expect it to cover your subscription Install with one command: npx -y @kickbacksai/install
