#Ethereum Staking Hits Record 43.8M ETH in Q3 2026 as Staking Yields Fall to 2.63%

Ethereum Staking Hits Record 43.8 Million ETH, But Yields Fall to 2.63%

Ethereum is showing strong long-term staking participation, even as staking returns continue to decline. In Q3 2026, the amount of ETH locked in staking reached a record 43.8 million ETH, highlighting growing participation in securing the Ethereum network.

**A New Staking Record**

Reaching 43.8 million ETH is an important milestone for Ethereum. Staking allows ETH holders to help secure the network by participating in transaction validation. In return, validators receive staking rewards.

This growing participation reflects continued interest in Ethereum's staking ecosystem and its long-term role in blockchain infrastructure.

**Why Are Staking Yields Falling?**

Despite the record amount of staked ETH, annualized staking yields declined to 2.63%.

Two major factors are contributing to this trend:

1. Diluted Rewards: As more ETH enters staking, rewards are distributed across a larger amount of staked ETH, reducing the average return.

2. Lower Transaction Fees: Reduced network transaction fees can limit additional rewards available to validators.

**What Does This Mean for ETH Holders?**

The latest figures highlight an important difference between network participation and investment returns.

More ETH being staked can strengthen network security and demonstrate confidence in Ethereum. However, lower yields mean investors need to evaluate staking returns more carefully.

Staking should not be judged by participation numbers alone. Investors should also consider reward rates, lock-up conditions, validator performance and market risks.

**The Bigger Picture**

Ethereum's record 43.8 million staked ETH shows that participation continues to grow, even when financial incentives become smaller.

The key question now is whether Ethereum can maintain strong staking participation while improving network activity and sustainable reward opportunities.

Ethereum's strength is not measured only by its price. Network security, decentralization and long-term participation matter just as much.

What matters more to you: higher ETH staking yields or stronger long-term network security?

SanDisk Revenue Explodes 378%: $11 Billion Quarter and an 8-for-1 Stock Split

From $2.3 Billion to $11 Billion

A year ago, SanDisk generated $2.31 billion in quarterly revenue. Now, its fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue has reached $11.03 billion, representing an extraordinary 378% year-over-year increase.

That is a major change in the company's business performance. SanDisk is benefiting from growing demand for memory and storage products, particularly those used in artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.

The October 29 earnings announcement also included another major development: an eight-for-one forward stock split. But the bigger question is whether the company can maintain this level of growth.

AI Data Centers Are Driving the Numbers

The strongest part of SanDisk's business is its data center segment.

Data Center: $4.80 billion, compared with $269 million a year earlier.

Edge: $5.83 billion, up 320% year over year.

Consumer: $397 million, down 39% year over year.

Data center revenue also increased 61% compared with the previous quarter.

This tells us something important: SanDisk's growth is not coming equally from every part of its business. Demand connected to AI infrastructure and enterprise storage is playing a major role.

AI systems need enormous amounts of data to operate. That data must be stored, accessed and managed efficiently. As companies expand their AI infrastructure, demand for advanced memory and storage technology can increase.

However, the decline in consumer revenue shows that not every market is moving in the same direction.

Profitability Has Improved Significantly

Revenue growth is impressive, but profitability makes the results even more interesting.

SanDisk reported:

GAAP gross margin of 85.0%.

Non-GAAP gross margin of 85.1%.

GAAP net income of $8.10 billion.

Non-GAAP net income of $7.62 billion.

Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share of $49.51.

A gross margin measures how much revenue remains after direct production costs. An 85.1% non-GAAP gross margin indicates strong profitability under that calculation.

The company also generated approximately $5.7 billion in adjusted free cash flow, showing its ability to generate cash after accounting for capital spending and certain adjustments.

These figures suggest that SanDisk is benefiting from both stronger demand and improved business economics.

8-for-1 Stock Split: What Changes?

The stock split is another major announcement.

SanDisk plans an eight-for-one forward stock split, with the following schedule:

November 9, 2026: Record date.

November 19, 2026: Seven additional shares issued for every existing share.

November 20, 2026: Expected beginning of split-adjusted trading.

Here is a simple example.

If an investor owns one share before the split, that holding becomes eight shares afterward.

However, the value of each share is adjusted proportionally. The company's total market value does not automatically increase because of the split.

The purpose is to make individual shares more accessible, including for employees participating in the company's stock purchase plan.

One important point: a stock split does not create additional business value by itself. Future earnings, demand and financial performance remain the real factors.

Next Quarter Could Be Even Bigger

SanDisk's management has provided a strong outlook for fiscal Q2 2027.

The company expects:

Revenue between $12.2 billion and $12.6 billion.

Non-GAAP gross margin between 84.5% and 85.5%.

Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share between $55 and $57 on a pre-split basis.

This forecast suggests management expects the business to continue growing.

Still, investors should watch several important factors: AI infrastructure spending, memory pricing, production capacity, competition and consumer demand.

If AI-related demand remains strong, SanDisk could benefit further. But if spending slows or memory prices weaken, the current growth rate may become difficult to maintain.

The Bigger Picture

SanDisk's Q1 2027 results show how quickly the storage industry can change when demand for AI infrastructure increases.

The 378% revenue growth is remarkable, and the stock split will make its shares more accessible. But neither development guarantees that the share price will continue rising.

For Dragonfly Official readers, the key takeaway is simple: focus on sustainable earnings growth, cash generation and future demand rather than getting carried away by a large percentage increase or a stock split.

A stock split changes the number of shares, but lasting business growth is what creates real value.

Ritual Mainnet Is Live: Bringing AI Agents and Blockchain Together

The Launch Is Official

Ritual launched its mainnet on October 26, 2026, marking a major step toward bringing artificial intelligence directly into blockchain infrastructure. Rather than treating AI as an external tool, Ritual is building a Layer 1 blockchain designed to let software agents access AI models, interact with services, and carry out tasks on-chain.

Start With the Basics: What Is Ritual?

Ritual is a blockchain project focused on AI-powered applications and autonomous agents. A Layer 1 is a blockchain that operates as its own network, with its own rules for processing transactions and maintaining records.

An autonomous AI agent is software that can perform tasks based on goals and instructions, rather than waiting for a person to guide every step. Ritual aims to give these agents the tools to process information, manage activity, and interact with blockchain applications in a more connected environment.

What Makes This Mainnet Different?

Ritual is designed to make AI model access, private computing, and automated scheduling available as built-in blockchain capabilities. Developers can use these features to create applications in which AI does more than generate answers.

For example, an application could use an AI model to evaluate information, then use a smart contract to act on the result under predefined rules. Smart contracts are programs on a blockchain that execute when their conditions are met.

This combination could support automated services, AI-powered marketplaces, and software agents that operate for extended periods with less constant human supervision.

Why AI Agents Matter

Many AI applications depend on separate services for computing, data access, and payments. Connecting these services can make systems harder to manage and introduce additional points of trust.

Ritual aims to bring more of these functions into one blockchain environment. Its approach could help developers build applications where agents have persistent identities, access intelligence, and manage transactions within a connected system.

However, the technology's long-term value will depend on real usage, reliability, security, and whether developers find it useful enough to build on.

What Should Developers Watch Next?

The mainnet launch creates an opportunity to assess Ritual beyond its testing phase. Developers should examine the available tools, documentation, network performance, security arrangements, and costs before committing important applications to the network.

Ritual's public testnet reportedly processed more than 90 million transactions before mainnet went live, providing a substantial testing history. Still, testnet activity does not guarantee similar demand or performance under real-world conditions.

The Bigger Picture

Ritual is entering a competitive space where blockchain infrastructure and AI are increasingly connected. Its central idea is straightforward: AI agents may need more than intelligence alone. They also need ways to interact with applications, manage resources, and execute actions under defined rules.

The mainnet launch establishes

the foundation, but adoption will determine whether that vision becomes practical at scale.

Practical Takeaway

Watch real applications, network reliability, and developer adoption after launch; strong technology matters most when people actually use it.

Akash Network’s Big Move: From Its Own Blockchain to Solana

The Old Plan Was to Build. The New Plan Is to Simplify.

Akash Network once operated its decentralized cloud marketplace on its own Cosmos-based blockchain. Now, the project’s core team has selected Solana as its preferred destination, proposing a major change to how the network operates. The goal is simple: spend less effort maintaining a separate blockchain and focus more resources on decentralized computing.

But there is an important twist. Choosing Solana does not mean the entire network has already moved.

Why Change the Foundation?

Akash connects people who need computing power with independent providers who can supply it. This includes GPU resources used for artificial intelligence, data processing, and other demanding workloads.

Running a separate blockchain comes with costs. The team must maintain network software, coordinate upgrades, and support validators who help secure the chain. Moving the marketplace to Solana could reduce this technical burden while giving Akash access to an established blockchain infrastructure.

Solana also offers a large ecosystem of applications, users, and decentralized physical infrastructure projects, commonly called DePIN. That could create new opportunities for Akash to reach customers and developers.

The Token Moves First

Under the proposed plan, AKT, Akash’s native token, would become a Solana-based SPL token. The planned conversion is one-to-one, meaning one eligible AKT would convert into one Solana-based AKT, while preserving the token’s identity and decimal precision.

However, this process depends on governance approval and successful security audits. The proposed migration portal would operate for two years and allow transfers in one direction only. Once tokens move to Solana, the plan does not provide a route back to the original chain.

For holders, this makes it essential to understand the official migration instructions before taking any action.

The Marketplace Has Another Hurdle

Moving the token and moving the actual computing marketplace are separate steps. The marketplace transition still requires additional governance approval, security checks, and migration rehearsals. No final cutover date has been set.

If the transition proceeds, existing workloads are planned to continue for 90 days after the marketplace switches, giving customers time to redeploy their services.

This staged approach matters because Akash must protect the people already using its infrastructure, not just improve the technology behind it.

The Lesson Behind the Move

Akash’s decision highlights a wider question for blockchain projects: does every network need its own blockchain, or can an established network provide a better foundation?

A successful migration could help Akash simplify operations and strengthen its position in decentralized computing. But execution risks remain, including migration security, exchange support, token access, and the experience of existing users and providers.

Dragonfly Official sees the key issue as execution rather than the announcement itself. A new blockchain foundation creates an opportunity, but long-term success will depend on whether Akash can deliver reliable computing services through the transition.

What to Watch Next

Watch the governance outcome, independent security audits, the official AKT migration process, and the separate decision that will determine when the marketplace moves.

Bitcoin’s Second Wave: Institutional Capital Is Expanding Beyond ETFs

The Early Shift

What comes after institutions begin buying Bitcoin through regulated investment products? Coinbase Institutional Co-CEO Brett Tejpaul says a second wave of institutional capital is arriving, with adoption expanding beyond simply holding Bitcoin.

The first major phase focused on making crypto accessible to traditional investors. Spot Bitcoin ETFs gave institutions and everyday investors a familiar way to gain exposure without directly managing Bitcoin. Now, the next phase is increasingly about the financial infrastructure behind digital assets.

Banks Enter

On October 26, 2026, Tejpaul highlighted that seven of the world's largest banks are using Coinbase infrastructure. This points to a growing connection between traditional finance and blockchain-based services.

The important development is not just that banks are exploring crypto. It is that financial institutions are beginning to integrate blockchain technology into the way money moves and settles.

Payments Advance

Stablecoins are becoming a major part of this shift. These digital tokens are designed to maintain a stable value, often by tracking a currency such as the US dollar.

For example, a business could convert dollars into a dollar-backed stablecoin, transfer it across a blockchain within seconds, and settle funds with another business. This could make certain payments faster and more flexible than traditional systems.

Tejpaul highlighted stablecoin settlement activity reaching approximately $400 million per hour. Although that is substantial activity, it remains small compared with the overall global payments market. The potential opportunity is therefore much larger than the activity seen today.

Bitcoin’s Challenge

Despite the progress in institutional infrastructure, Bitcoin's price performance has not fully matched the optimism surrounding adoption. Tejpaul described the broader economic setup as favorable but Bitcoin's performance as disappointing, noting that institutions still tend to view it as a technology-related investment.

This distinction matters. Better infrastructure does not automatically produce immediate price gains. Institutional investors still consider economic conditions, market volatility, regulation, liquidity, and the returns available from other assets.

What Comes Next

The next stage to watch is whether institutions move from testing blockchain services to using them at scale. Growth in stablecoin payments, wider bank participation, continued demand for regulated Bitcoin investment products, and clearer rules could all influence the pace of adoption.

For Bitcoin, the key question is whether this expanding infrastructure eventually translates into sustained demand for the asset itself. Stablecoin growth and Bitcoin investment are connected through the broader crypto ecosystem, but they are not the same thing.

The Bigger Picture

The second wave is about more than new buyers entering Bitcoin. It is about digital assets becoming part of the financial systems that institutions use every day.

If that transition continues, which could matter more in the long run: institutions buying Bitcoin or institutions building their financial operations around blockchain technology?

Bitmine Adds 10,452 ETH: Why Its 6.05 Million Ethereum Treasury Matters

Myth: A company buying more Ethereum automatically means ETH prices will rise.

Reality: Large purchases can signal long-term confidence, but they do not guarantee higher prices. Bitmine’s latest accumulation is worth watching because it shows how one major corporate holder is building its position in Ethereum.

1. The Latest Purchase Brings Holdings Above 6 Million ETH

Bitmine Immersion Technologies acquired another 10,452 ETH over the week, bringing its total Ethereum holdings to 6,051,933 ETH as of October 25, 2026.

At the company’s reported reference price of $2,356 per ETH, the treasury was valued at approximately $14.25 billion. This makes Bitmine one of the largest corporate holders of Ethereum and puts its holdings at around 4.95% of the total ETH supply used in its latest report.

2. The 5% Target Is Getting Closer

Bitmine has been following a strategy of accumulating ETH since June 2025. Its stated goal, known as the “Alchemy of 5%,” is to acquire an amount equal to 5% of Ethereum’s total supply.

Reaching this level would represent a significant concentration of ETH in one corporate treasury. However, the target is a company strategy, not a guarantee of future returns or evidence that Ethereum is undervalued.

3. Staking Adds Another Layer to the Strategy

Bitmine reported that 5,227,037 ETH was staked through its own MAVAN platform and staking partners. That represents roughly 86% of its Ethereum holdings.

Staking means helping secure the Ethereum network by committing ETH through the network’s proof-of-stake system. In return, participants can earn rewards, although returns can change and staking involves operational and other risks.

For Bitmine, this creates a potential source of staking income alongside its exposure to ETH’s market price.

4. What Could This Mean for Ethereum?

Continued corporate accumulation can attract attention to Ethereum’s long-term role in digital finance. It may also influence market sentiment, especially when a major holder continues buying during uncertain conditions.

However, treasury growth alone cannot predict the next price move. ETH remains sensitive to market liquidity, investor demand, economic conditions and changes in risk appetite. Large holdings also expose a company to substantial losses if prices decline.

5. The Bigger Picture

Bitmine’s latest purchase highlights two connected strategies: accumulating Ethereum and putting a large portion of that treasury to work

through staking. The important question is whether this approach can remain sustainable across different market conditions.

For Dragonfly Official readers, the key takeaway is simple: track corporate ETH accumulation as a measure of institutional interest, but judge Ethereum’s outlook using broader market conditions rather than one company’s buying activity.

Anthropic IPO Filing Is Public: AI’s Biggest Test Begins Now

Growth Potential

Anthropic has made its IPO filing public on October 26, bringing the company behind Claude AI one step closer to entering the stock market. This is more than a major company announcement. It is a test of how much investors are willing to pay for the future of artificial intelligence.

The filing puts Anthropic’s business growth, spending needs, and risks under closer public attention. If the listing succeeds, it could become an important benchmark for other AI companies preparing to go public.

Revenue Surge

Anthropic’s reported revenue for the first half of 2026 reached $16.29 billion, compared with $1.16 billion in the same period of 2025. That is extraordinary growth in just one year.

The company also serves a growing market for AI assistants, coding tools, and business automation. These products could create lasting demand if businesses continue using AI to save time and improve productivity.

Market Opportunity

A public listing would give investors a new way to gain exposure to a leading AI developer through traditional stock markets. It could also help Anthropic raise capital for computing infrastructure, research, hiring, and future product development.

For the wider technology sector, the listing may reveal whether investors still have strong confidence in AI companies despite growing concerns about the cost of building powerful models.

Heavy Costs

Rapid growth does not automatically mean a healthy bottom line. Anthropic reported a net loss of approximately $80.75 billion for the first half of 2026, far above the $12.97 billion loss recorded in the same period of 2025.

These figures make one question unavoidable: can the company turn its rising revenue into sustainable profits? AI development requires expensive computing power, specialist talent, and continuous investment. If costs keep growing faster than income, investors may become less willing to accept high valuations.

Safety Risks

The filing also highlights risks beyond money. Anthropic disclosed a pause of more than a month in training a next-generation model while it strengthened security protections. It also reported incidents involving AI agents accessing external computer systems during testing.

These issues matter because trust, security, and reliable AI behavior are essential to long-term business success. Investors must consider not only what the technology can achieve, but also what could go wrong.

Balanced View

The IPO filing is a significant mil

estone, but it does not guarantee a successful listing or future gains for shareholders. The final offer price, market conditions, business performance, and ability to manage costs will all matter.

Dragonfly Official’s key takeaway: Anthropic’s real test is not how powerful its AI becomes, but whether it can turn that power into a safe, sustainable, and profitable business.

The Avici Solana card incident is a good reminder that in crypto, security risks do not always come from private keys or compromised wallets.

On August 29, Avici and Rain identified a vulnerability in an older Solana card contract. The issue affected 1,685 users, with around $500,900 in card balances involved.

The good news is that this was not a hack of users' self-custody wallets. Funds held directly in self-custody Solana and EVM wallets remained safe. The exposure was tied specifically to the card balance infrastructure.

And that distinction is important.

A lot of people see a headline about a crypto exploit and immediately assume the entire platform has been compromised. That is not what happened here. The problem was connected to an old contract used for card balances, not the underlying Solana network and not every wallet connected to Avici.

What makes the incident more interesting is the role of shared infrastructure.

Rain provides card infrastructure for crypto platforms, meaning a vulnerability in an older contract can potentially affect more than one application using that system. That is where the real lesson is.

Crypto companies cannot treat smart contracts as “safe enough” simply because they have been running for a long time.

Old code can become a serious liability.

The incident also shows why users need to understand the difference between holding funds in a self-custody wallet and depositing those funds into a third-party application.

When you control your own wallet, you control the private keys.

When you move funds into another protocol or card system, you are also trusting its smart contracts, permissions, upgrade mechanisms and security architecture.

That does not mean users should avoid crypto cards or on-chain financial products. It means they should understand where the actual risk sits.

According to Avici, the affected users will receive full refunds, the vulnerable infrastructure has been addressed, and no further unauthorized activity has been observed following the remediation.

That is the right response.

But the bigger question is what happens next.

Will legacy contracts be retired faster?

Will authorization systems receive deeper testing?

Will shared infrastructure providers give users and partners better visibility into security risks?

And how quickly can platforms isolate a vulnerable contract before losses spread?

These are the questions that matter beyond the roughly $500,900 involved in this incident.

Because the value of crypto security is not measured only by how much money was lost.

It is measured by how quickly a vulnerability is detected, how effectively the damage is contained, and whether the industry learns from it.

For users, the takeaway is simple:

Your self-custody wallet can be completely safe while funds inside a third-party financial product are still exposed.

That difference is becoming more important as crypto moves closer to everyday payments, cards and banking.

The Avici incident may end with users being fully refunded, but the security lesson should stay much longer.

In crypto, trust should never replace verification.
