LIQUID IS FULLY BACKED AGAIN, TWO MONTHS AFTER ITS EXPLOIT On September 6 an attacker abused a bug in Elements' rangeproof verification to mint about 4,000 L-BTC with no bitcoin behind it, draining reserves from roughly 4,205 BTC to 197. Most of the coins came back, and a final 250 BTC deposit on November 2 closed the gap. SideSwap now shows 4,270.54 BTC backing the same amount of L-BTC. One catch remains: direct federation peg-outs are still restricted, so exits run through swap providers.
