Dear, the online payment giant PayPal has just opened up the underlying infrastructure of its stablecoin for public use! @m0’s Chief Growth Officer, @0xjayzero, explained the concept behind PYUSDx on the @openinterest_hq show. Essentially, they’re transforming PYUSD from a simple asset into a platform that developers can directly build upon. Before this change, the logic was straightforward: PYUSD was just one stablecoin—you either used it or you didn’t. Now, developers can leverage PYUSD’s liquidity as a foundation to issue their own customized stablecoins, with full control over the rules and usage protocols. For PayPal, this effectively expands the PYUSD market to every project wanting to launch its own digital currency—and according to him, this solution is already live in production. It seems competition in the stablecoin space has shifted from who issues the most, to who can become the underlying infrastructure! What do you think?
