A few milliseconds can make a difference in how much an Ethereum validator earns. When a validator is selected to propose a block, it has a limited window to publish it across the network. Before publishing, it may receive bids from different block builders, each offering a reward for including their transactions in the block. This creates a timing decision for the validator. Publish now with the best available bid, or wait a little longer in case a better offer arrives? Waiting could increase its earnings, but every additional millisecond brings it closer to the slot deadline. Wait too long, and the validator risks missing its opportunity to earn those rewards. @get_optimum 's Accelerate service helps validators manage this timing. It speeds up the distribution of proposed blocks across the network and provides a way to optimize bid cutoff settings. This gives validators more flexibility when deciding how long to consider incoming bids before publishing their blocks. Network propagation plays an important role here. The faster a proposed block reaches other validators, the more room its proposer has to manage the bidding window without putting the slot deadline at risk. Those extra milliseconds can make a difference. Of course, faster propagation doesn't guarantee higher rewards. Bid values, when offers arrive, and how quickly the validator can publish all contribute to the outcome. However, improving block delivery gives operators another opportunity to improve their performance. We've seen how Optimum's mump2p helps validators receive blocks earlier and reduce wrong head votes. Accelerate focuses on the outbound side of block propagation: helping validators distribute their proposed blocks faster and make better use of their available time. Ethereum validator performance involves more than the amount of ETH you stake. How quickly you receive information and how efficiently you distribute it can also influence your performance and potential earnings.
