Bitcoin doesn't need another stablecoin chain. It needs better infrastructure for moving dollars. That's what makes Utexo interesting. For years, stablecoin activity has been concentrated around networks like Ethereum and Tron. Bitcoin, despite being the largest crypto network, has struggled to become a major settlement environment for dollar-based transactions. @utexocom is approaching this problem differently. Instead of trying to turn Bitcoin into another Ethereum, it's combining three important technologies: • Bitcoin for settlement security. • RGB for confidential asset transfers. • Lightning for fast payment infrastructure. But the interesting part isn't just the technology. It's the potential business applications. Think about exchanges settling USDT balances, wallets offering BTC-to-USDT swaps, businesses making private dollar transfers, and OTC desks moving liquidity without exposing sensitive commercial activity publicly. Utexo has already taken an important step. On October 22, it opened Utexo Mint early access, allowing verified operators to test minting, transfers and redemption on Bitcoin Signet. The planned public launch is November 28, 2026, with Lightning expansion targeted for Q1 2027. One detail worth understanding: this is a 1:1-backed bridged version of USDT, not a claim that Tether has launched a native Bitcoin issuance through Utexo. My biggest question is not whether USDT can exist on Bitcoin. It's whether Bitcoin can become a competitive settlement layer for businesses that need privacy, liquidity and predictable payments. That's the infrastructure challenge Utexo is trying to solve. And November 28 will be an important milestone to watch.
