Apple released the first developer betas of iOS 27.3 and watchOS 27.3, introducing major AI features, expanded Apple Intelligence capabilities in China and a redesigned Health app. Among the most controversial additions are always-on audio intelligence tools for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, including Siri Recap, which summarizes nearby conversations, and Live Rewind, which displays transcripts of the previous 15 seconds of dialogue. Both features are currently limited to English and remain in testing. The audio tools could raise legal and privacy concerns, particularly in states requiring consent from all parties before recording conversations. Apple says audio is processed directly on the device, is not stored, and includes safeguards to prevent sensitive information from appearing in summaries. The update also introduces selected Apple Intelligence features in China following regulatory approval and integration of an Alibaba-developed content filter. $AAPL
