Agents can now discover services, interact with applications, execute tasks, and initiate payments. Protocols like x402, AP2, and ACP are advancing agent payments. But enabling transactions is only part of the equation. Who created the agent? Who authorised its actions? And who is accountable when something goes wrong? These are critical questions the agentic economy must address. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. Concordium's protocol-level identity infrastructure, powered by zero-knowledge proofs, provides a foundation for verifiable identity while protecting sensitive personal information. Applied to AI agents, this creates a pathway to link autonomous activity with verified human identity and accountability. The goal is not to limit AI autonomy, but to ensure that agents can operate with clear ownership, authorisation, and responsibility. Payments enable agents to transact. Identity makes their actions accountable. As AI becomes more deeply integrated into the digital economy, both will be essential. This is a conversation Concordium has been preparing for long before agentic commerce became a major talking point. Hear Boris Bohrer-Bilowitzki explain this at Concordium Town Hall #6.
