Nearly 30 Indian investors suffered losses exceeding Rs 100 crore following unauthorized portfolio liquidations on overseas trading platform Stockal Securities. Holdings across major US equities including $AAPL, $NVDA, $AMZN, and $TSLA were sold on October 15 and redirected into Chinese firm Zhibao Technology $ZBAO, which subsequently dropped 60%. Stockal stated that internal reviews found no direct platform breach and pointed to credential theft, while US partner brokerage DriveWealth denied liability and attributed security lapses to Stockal as investors lodged complaints with SEBI and the US SEC.
