If you don’t understand crypto tax you could end up paying the bill for YEARS. The 3 most common errors I see screw people over: 1)Never selling dust If you only sell your winners, and never harvest losses on your losers, you could have a taxable gain. Even if you lost money on paper. 2)Making up the rules The most common one I see is people think they don’t owe tax until they cash out. Ben thought the capital gains would rollover into his biz. Consult a tax pro (or at least Grok if you can’t afford one.) 3)Not setting aside enough for the bill If you have a gain in 2026 and lose it all in 2027 you can’t push the losses backwards unless you live in Canada. Set money aside or send it straight to the IRS if you have a big win. Have you made any of these mistakes?
