The Mercado Bitcoin hacker has started moving the money from a $46 MILLION exchange breach. And some of the tokens still sitting in the attacker's wallets are worth watching. Here's what has happened so far: - On November 2, Brazil's largest crypto exchange confirmed a security breach after more than $40M in suspicious transfers were flagged across multiple blockchains. - The exchange suspended deposits and withdrawals while investigating. - Arkham later tracked roughly $8M worth of $ETH being moved to fresh wallets. - More than $9M in stolen assets had already been frozen, according to Lookonchain. - Mercado Bitcoin has since said the recovery effort has frozen around $11M. - But the attacker still holds a sizeable collection of altcoins. Some of the reported holdings: – 372.99B $PEPE worth $1.79M – 12,820 $AAVE worth $1.61M – 769,950 $PENDLE worth $1.35M – 1.98M $VIRTUAL worth $1.15M – 2.67M $ONDO worth $1.03M That's millions of dollars in tokens that could face selling pressure if the attacker decides to liquidate them. The hack may be over, but the movement of the stolen funds is still worth tracking.
