Fear is officially back. Total market capitalization fell to $2.61 trillion, down 2.37% over the past seven days. Sentiment crossed the line we flagged last week: the Fear and Greed Index dropped from 43 to 36, moving out of neutral and into fear. BTC dominance barely moved, easing to 60.00% from 60.10%. The Altcoin Season Index slipped again, from 50 to 46. Curve led the losers with a 22% drop, while Hyperliquid topped the gainers with an 11% rise. With dominance flat and both the index and total market cap falling, capital is still leaving the market rather than rotating inside it. So last week's question got its answer: neutral sentiment tipped into fear before the market found a floor. The index is now 29 points from altseason territory. Is this the kind of fear that marks a bottom, or just the start of a longer cooldown?
