November is here, and SUI has another token unlock. What should we care about? On @SuiNetwork, around 13.15M SUI is scheduled to unlock on November 1, 2026. Some trackers show a larger amount of around 22.6M SUI on November 3 because they use different schedules and allocation methods. So how big is this unlock? → Total supply: 10B SUI. → Circulating supply: Around 4.118B SUI, or 41.18% of the total. → Scheduled unlock: Around 13.15M SUI on November 1. → Compared with circulating supply: Around 0.32%. The number might sound large, but I think the more important question is where those tokens are going. 1. Who receives the unlocked tokens? According to @coingecko's November 1 breakdown: → Early Contributors: Around 7.08M SUI. → Community Reserve: Around 4M SUI. → Mysten Labs Treasury: Around 2.07M SUI. These allocations have different purposes, so we should not assume that every unlocked token will immediately be sold. An unlock makes tokens available according to the schedule. It does not tell us exactly what recipients will do with them. 2. Supply will continue changing Sui has a long-term token release schedule, and staking subsidies also contribute to circulating supply over time. This means the November unlock is only one part of the broader supply picture. I think it is more useful to monitor the total supply entering circulation over time than to focus on a single unlock date. 3. Does an unlock always mean the price will fall? Not necessarily. Some holders may sell, while others may continue holding or using their tokens. Market conditions, liquidity, and overall demand also affect price movements. Historical unlocks have produced different outcomes, so I would not use one event to predict what happens next. The bigger story for November is whether Sui's ecosystem activity can keep growing as more tokens enter circulation. We are already seeing developments across different areas, including: → @MercadoBitcoin expanding access to Sui in Brazil. → New infrastructure connecting external liquidity to Sui DeFi. → Slush Wallet improvements that make transactions easier for users. → XAUa, the Hong Kong-regulated gold token from @AlphaTokenHQ, is live on Sui, minted with the Permissioned Asset Standard (PAS). → @navi_protocol opened its first EVM vault, built on @lagoon_finance infrastructure. → @HaedalProtocol's Lending Vault crossed $7M in liquidity. Token unlocks follow a schedule. Real adoption is much harder to predict. The question I keep coming back to is whether Sui grow its real network activity as more supply enters circulation? → We might get updates from @EmanAbio That is what I will be watching this November.
