Nearly 8 percent of all staked ETH now runs mump2p. The share itself is less interesting than what that share does to the mesh. Ethereum’s gossip layer keeps each node wired to about 8 mesh peers per topic. If adopters were scattered randomly across the network, 8 percent adoption means roughly half of all nodes already sit next to at least one accelerated neighbour. One in two, at eight percent. Push it to 20 and more than 80 percent of nodes have a fast neighbour. Honest caveat: stake share is not node share. Big operators run many validators behind fewer machines, and adopters cluster rather than scatter, so the node level figure is almost certainly lower than the stake level one. The shape still holds though. In this category the benefit doesn’t arrive when everyone adopts. It arrives when your neighbour does, and the curve for that gets steep early. @get_optimum crossed 3.36 million ETH boosted. The number I’d actually watch is what share of nodes now sit one hop from a boosted peer. @blockchainjeff
