Bhutan is a remarkable country. It once held a substantial reserve of Bitcoin, accumulated through its low-cost hydropower mining. At its peak, this reserve was worth over $1 billion—equivalent to a significant portion of the country’s GDP. However, according to on-chain data and tracking platforms, Bhutan’s known national Bitcoin holdings have dramatically decreased—from a peak of approximately 13,000 BTC in October 2024 to the current tracked amount of about 500–518 BTC, a decline of over 95%. This will be regarded as a historic mistake!!! #Bitcoin
