I’m betting MCP replaces crypto’s connect button. DFINITY just connected Anthropic’s Claude to the Internet Computer through the Model Context Protocol, letting users authenticate with Internet Identity to query records, manage accounts and interact onchain. That sounds like a small integration, but the mechanism is nasty for dapp frontends: once chain actions become model tools, users stop navigating apps and start asking agents to call the safest available endpoint. I’m watching whether serious DeFi teams ship MCP servers before they ship new consumer UIs; if they don’t, my thesis is early or wrong.
