If you stake into any subnet alpha, the owner just gained the power to cut your yield. Most stakers will only notice after it happens. The old split was fixed for every subnet: 18% owner 41% validators and stakers 41% miners That rule is gone. Owners can now reset the split roughly once every 7 days, inside these limits: Owner: 0% to 33% Validators: up to 50% Miners: at least 33% Root TAO stakers stay protected. The chain adjusts effective TAO weight so they keep roughly the slice they had under the old rules, about 5.4%. Alpha stakers get no such protection. Here is what a split tilted toward miners looks like: 18% owner 20% validators 62% miners The validator slice roughly halves, and alpha staking yield falls with it. Miners get paid more, and for compute and production subnets that is the point. What I would do this week: 1. Check the current split on every subnet you hold 2. Watch for the first changes, since each split can only move about once a week 3. Ask one question of every change: is the owner cutting yield to fund real output, or just taking a bigger cut? Yield is what a subnet pays you to wait. Revenue is why waiting can still be worth it. Which of your subnets moves toward miners first, and will you hold through the yield cut? https://t.co/a5tesIyD6S
