All the people who call themselves the fathers of African crypto and Forex Lords have created a certain image of what success in this industry looks like. The proof that they have made it is in their car keys, big mansions, expensive lifestyles and pictures posted online. Unfortunately, they have passed this mindset down to the next generation. Today, many Africans want to win in crypto, not necessarily to build anything meaningful in the industry, but to buy expensive cars, own big houses and show them off online. That is the definition of success many of our so-called African crypto fathers have taught the next generation. But we need to think beyond personal wealth and online validation. What are we building? What problems are we solving? What will Africa contribute to the future of this industry? We need to start thinking about collaboration, innovation, infrastructure and ownership. Africa must come together to build something so valuable, so useful and so irresistible that the rest of the world cannot ignore it. The future of African crypto cannot be built on car keys and mansions alone.
