This gold flush has the dash-for-cash signature, the same pattern we saw in March 2020 and August 2024. A sharp tech/AI and chip-stock rout triggered margin calls, forcing investors to sell the most liquid winners first. Gold got hit hard not because the fundamental thesis broke, but because people needed cash fast. Higher oil on Middle East risk, sticky inflation, and elevated Fed hike odds all raised the opportunity cost of holding a non-yielding asset at the exact moment liquidity was tightest. Short-term remains rates, oil, and real yields. A sustained drop in crude or softer data would ease the pressure. Long-term nothing has changed: fiscal reality, persistent deficits, central bank buying, and strong physical demand (especially from China) still form the structural floor. These deep liquidations have historically marked some of the best entries once the forced selling is done. I’m stacking into this weakness. Physical, tokenized, and everything in between, the thesis doesn’t care about the temporary cash squeeze. #Gold #tokenization #AI
