557 million stablecoin transfers are striking, but payment demand needs to be viewed from multiple angles. ① On October 18, Solana officially stated on X that stablecoin transfer volume reached 557 million in September, a 33% month-over-month increase, averaging approximately 18.6 million transfers per day. First, clarify the unit: this is count of transfers, not USD value. ② High-frequency transfers can occur in various scenarios such as trading, market making, and automated fund management. Even if the statistics are accurate, further differentiation is needed between retail payments, institutional fund movements, and automated machine activity. ③ The September data was disclosed this week and should not be presented as real-time October performance; nor should the 557 million transfers be interpreted as 557 million users. A single business transaction may involve multiple transfers, and the same address may repeatedly perform operations. ④ The materials reviewed so far do not provide sufficient detail for independent replication of the methodology. Therefore, rankings and growth rates should be attributed as “officially disclosed,” and independent verification remains pending; a secondary report cannot substitute for a data audit. My own assessment: I accept stablecoin activity as a useful entry point for observation, but I will continue seeking adjusted values, accounts with repeated usage, and real merchant case studies. Only by breaking down this single growth curve into distinct demand categories can we assess its sustainability. NFA / DYOR @Solana_zh @solana @SolanaFndn
