A non-binding poll recently asked STRK holders whether Starknet should research becoming an independent L1. On @Starknet, a “Yes” outcome only supported further research. It did not approve an actual transition away from Ethereum. Any real change would still require separate governance proposals and additional votes. STRK remains the native token, and existing bridges are expected to stay open under the explored path. Starknet is still an L2 today. The L1 idea remains in the research and discussion stage rather than an active migration. The poll focused on giving the community a voice on how the network should approach security adaptability. Clear status matters: early exploration does not equal a completed decision or a change in the current security model. The process prioritizes controlled preparation over sudden architectural shifts.
