Price doesn’t know where you drew your lines. You mark your key areas, identify the trend, and map out a few scenarios. Everything makes sense when you’re looking at the chart before the next move happens. Then price reaches an area you’ve been watching and things get messy. A wick breaks through support, the candle closes back above it, and the next one immediately tests that area again. Now you’re wondering whether you’re watching a liquidity sweep or the beginning of a breakdown. It’s easy to become attached to a clean chart and forget that price rarely behaves exactly as expected. Sometimes you get an immediate reaction. Other times price trades through the area, tests it several times, or gives you no clear confirmation at all. That’s why I watch what happens next. Does price reclaim support and hold above it? Does the bounce fail and structure start breaking down? Those details tell me more than a simple touch. I’ve passed on plenty of trades where price reached my area of interest but never gave me a good reason to enter. The price was right. The setup wasn’t.
