Top of The Morning 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 Every financial transaction leaves information behind. On public blockchains, that transparency can be useful, but it can also expose details that users and businesses would rather keep private. Imagine a company paying its employees onchain. The payments need to be verifiable, but does everyone really need to see each employee's salary? This is the kind of problem @primus_labs is working to address, and it goes beyond simply hiding transaction details. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗜𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 For onchain finance to serve more businesses, it needs to handle two requirements at once: sensitive information must remain protected, while important claims still need to be checked. Primus is approaching this through different technologies designed for different parts of the problem. ▪️ zkTLS and trusted data Financial applications often need information that lives outside a blockchain, such as records from an exchange or data from an online service. zkTLS can help users prove claims about information obtained from supported web sources without exposing all the underlying details. This could be useful for financial verification, reputation systems, and checking information associated with AI agents. ▪️ FHE and confidential transactions Fully Homomorphic Encryption allows supported computations to be performed on encrypted data without first decrypting it. Primus Confidential Vault applies the privacy-finance concept to encrypted assets, aiming to protect sensitive financial details such as balances and transaction amounts during supported operations. The distinction matters: zkTLS helps establish the authenticity of external data, while FHE enables computation on encrypted information. They solve different problems but can contribute to a similar goal. 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗿𝘆𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 𝗧𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 The interesting part is how these capabilities could fit into everyday financial services. Primus is developing its privacy-finance infrastructure on existing blockchain ecosystems, including BNB Chain. Its collaboration with AllScale on an onchain payroll structure also points toward business use cases where payment records need to be verifiable without unnecessarily exposing salary amounts. There is also the performance challenge. Encrypted computation can be demanding, so GPU acceleration and more accessible zkTLS development tools matter if developers are going to build practical applications around these technologies. Good cryptography is only part of the equation. Products also need acceptable transaction costs, useful performance, strong security reviews, regulatory compliance, and real demand from users. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 Businesses may hesitate to move financial operations onchain if doing so exposes commercially sensitive information. Individuals may also be uncomfortable with their financial activity being permanently traceable. Privacy-preserving verification offers another approach: disclose what is necessary, protect what is sensitive, and make the relevant claims verifiable. That doesn't guarantee adoption, but it addresses a real obstacle to bringing more financial activity onchain. For me, the important question is how effectively @primus_labs can turn these technologies into tools that developers and businesses can use in practice. The goal isn't to make finance invisible. It's to make financial information verifiable without making every detail public.
