I LEARNED TO LET THE FISH RUN The first big fish I ever hooked nearly tore the rod out of my hands. The line was screaming off the reel… My heart was pounding, and every instinct told me to clamp down and haul it in by force, but an old fisherman beside me on the pier said only one thing: let it run… So I eased the drag, and kept the rod tip up… The fish tore away, turned, and tore away again, and each run got a little shorter. Whenever I tried to muscle it, the line went tight as wire and nearly snapped…Whenever I stayed patient, I gained ground without noticing. That afternoon taught me more about holding $XRP than any chart has… There were stretches when everything seemed to be running away from me… I wanted to pull hard, sell, chase, do something dramatic, and that is exactly how lines break. Now, I keep steady pressure… I know why I'm on the water… I trust the knot I tied, and I let the market burn off its energy. The fish is still on the line...I just stopped pulling against it.
