1/ Decibel vs other Perp DEXs: Where does it actually stand? Decibel is a fully onchain Spot + Perp DEX built on Aptos. Orders are placed, matched and settled onchain, without an offchain matching engine. Since launching its mainnet in February 2026, cumulative volume has reportedly surpassed $8.5B. But how does it compare with Hyperliquid and Lighter? Let's look at the bigger picture. 👇 2/ The scale gap is still massive October 2026 figures: • Decibel: ~$1.26B 30D volume | ~$3M OI • Hyperliquid: ~$150–200B 30D volume | ~$8–11B OI • Lighter: ~$50–65B 30D volume | $500M+ OI Decibel has made progress, but it's still operating at a very different scale. Volume gets attention. Sustainable liquidity is what keeps serious traders around. 3/ Where Decibel stands out ✅ Fully onchain infrastructure on Aptos ✅ Crosschain USDC deposits designed to reduce bridging friction ✅ Stock, ETF and commodity perps, with supported markets available beyond traditional trading hours ✅ Fast execution and sub second finality ✅ Competitive fee structure, including maker incentives for eligible tiers Decibel doesn't need to become the next Hyperliquid. It needs to give traders a compelling reason to stay. 4/ The real challenges Thin liquidity and low OI can mean wider spreads and more slippage on larger orders. Volume alone doesn't tell the whole story. OI, unique traders and retention matter too. Execution needs to remain reliable during periods of high volatility. Hyperliquid and Lighter already benefit from stronger liquidity and established network effects. 5/ What should Decibel prioritize? Attract more market makers to deepen order books and tighten spreads. Grow sustainable OI instead of chasing short term volume. Make trader incentives clearer and more compelling. Improve maker rebates and fee tiers to attract liquidity providers. Build long term value. If a token ever comes, its utility needs to be meaningful. 6/ Bottom line Decibel has solid technology and a differentiated direction, especially in its approach to equities and commodities. But in the perp DEX race, technology alone isn't enough. Liquidity, execution quality and trader retention are what matter in the long run. I'd rather see deeper order books and sustainable OI than another volume milestone without lasting users. The opportunity is there. Now it's about execution. What do you think Decibel needs most right now: deeper liquidity, better incentives, or something else? @DecibelTrade #Decibel #Hyperliquid #PerpDEX #Aptos
