the biggest risk in agent commerce might happen before a transaction even begins. @termix_ai recently warned about impersonators soliciting investments, confirming that no community fundraising is underway. but this exposes a deeper problem. AACP uses ERC-8004 identities, wallet-signed transactions and onchain escrow to establish accountability between agents. yet none of these mechanisms can automatically prove that a message claiming to represent a trusted agent is authentic. an attacker doesn't need to break escrow if they can convince someone to interact with the wrong identity. that's why i see counterparty authentication as a critical layer of agent commerce. verifying wallet ownership, agent identity, chain context and contract addresses before execution matters just as much as settlement security. TermiX has already built important transaction infrastructure. the next challenge is making identity verification seamless enough for autonomous agents to use consistently. because trustless settlement means little if the wrong counterparty gets trusted first.
