Primus: Can blockchain transactions stay private without becoming slow? Blockchain privacy comes with a technical challenge. Encrypting financial data is one thing, but processing it efficiently without revealing the original information is much harder. This is where @primus_labs introduces AutoHoG, its technology for accelerating Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). FHE allows computations to be performed directly on encrypted data. For example, a system can process an encrypted balance without first exposing the actual amount. Primus designed AutoHoG to optimise these computations by improving how encrypted logic is evaluated and using GPU acceleration. In its published benchmark, Primus reported approximately 90 milliseconds per confidential transfer and over 210 transactions per second using eight NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPUs. These are results from its tested setup, not guaranteed performance across all networks. Why does this matter? Imagine a DeFi platform processing thousands of private transactions. If encrypted operations are too slow, users may experience delays and the system may struggle to scale. Faster computation could make confidential stablecoin transfers, private DeFi positions, and other financial applications more practical. Primus is also exploring how to bring confidential finance to BNB Chain through its Confidential Vault, developed with Unitas and United Stables. The bigger picture is that blockchain privacy needs more than encryption. It also needs efficient computation that can support real financial activity. AutoHoG is Primus's attempt to tackle that performance challenge, helping make confidential on-chain finance more practical.
