🤯 Anthropic is about to IPO with figures that made me pause for a moment. 🟢 First-half revenue: $16.3B 🟢 Net loss: $80.7B 🟢 Compute commitments exceeding $600B 🟢 Market valuation could reach $1.5–2T 🤖 The $80.7B net loss sounds staggering, but most of it stems from accounting charges related to convertible bonds—not actual cash burned by the company. The real business picture is even more compelling: operating loss has shrunk to $693M, and adjusted operating income has turned positive at $1.62B. What I find more significant than the revenue numbers is that Anthropic is revealing the true cost of competing to build frontier AI. While AI grows more powerful every day, behind it lies hundreds of billions of dollars in compute contracts with Amazon, Google, and other providers 🏗️. Anthropic’s IPO will thus be a major test for the market: how much do investors truly believe AI can generate cash flows fast enough to keep pace with skyrocketing infrastructure costs?
