𝑰𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐒 → 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 → 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘? Token incentives can be used to encourage participants to contribute resources to decentralized infrastructure. In a resource marketplace, these contributions might involve bandwidth, storage, computing capacity, or other services defined by a protocol. The important design question is whether incentives reward useful, verifiable work rather than superficial activity. A sustainable mechanism needs clear rules for eligibility, measurement, settlement, abuse prevention, and dispute resolution. It also needs to account for costs. A participant’s revenue may not exceed electricity, hardware, bandwidth, maintenance, and operational expenses. For the BitTorrent ecosystem, the larger conversation around BTT should therefore consider the relationship between incentives and actual service delivery. Token rewards can encourage participation, but they cannot substitute for a product that solves a genuine problem. The strongest infrastructure economies connect economic rewards to measurable value delivered to users. @justinsuntron @BitTorrent #TRONEcoStar
