𝐄𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐘 ≠ 𝐔𝐍𝐋𝐈𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐖𝐈𝐃𝐓𝐇 Peer-to-peer distribution can spread file transfers across multiple sources, but it cannot eliminate the physical limits of a network. Every connection competes for finite capacity. When demand exceeds available bandwidth, congestion can increase latency, reduce throughput, and disrupt other applications. A well-configured BitTorrent client should therefore be treated as a network application that needs sensible limits. Upload caps, connection limits, scheduling, and traffic prioritization can help balance file transfers with other activities. For organizations, network policies may also need to account for business-critical traffic, metered connections, and acceptable-use requirements. The goal is not simply to maximize one download’s speed. It is to achieve useful delivery without creating unnecessary disruption elsewhere. This is a broader lesson for decentralized infrastructure: distributing workloads does not make resource management irrelevant. It makes resource management more important, because performance depends on the interaction of many independent participants. @justinsuntron @BitTorrent #TRONEcoStar
