gn Imagine holding a stablecoin backed by real assets, but the latest reserve report you can access only tells you what existed when the report was prepared. That creates a gap between knowing an issuer had sufficient backing and knowing whether its reserves still support the tokens circulating today. This is why I find @primus_labs' approach to Proof of Reserves interesting. It focuses on making reserve information verifiable without requiring financial institutions to expose every sensitive detail behind their accounts. 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗔 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Stablecoins are becoming useful beyond simply moving funds between exchanges. They are being integrated into payments, financial applications, and tokenized assets, where users need confidence that the value represented by a token has meaningful backing. But confidence should not depend entirely on an issuer's reputation or a document published at a particular time. Reserve verification needs to become something applications can access more regularly, especially when financial positions change. There is another challenge. The institutions holding reserves may not want to publish their banking information, account details, or complete financial positions. Making those records publicly available could expose sensitive information that has nothing to do with proving whether a token is backed. Primus PoR approaches this through a combination of onchain and offchain verification. Blockchain assets can be checked using public onchain information, while offchain balances require evidence that the reported information is authentic. This is where zkTLS becomes useful. It helps verify information obtained from web sources while protecting the underlying account details. The important idea is that financial information can support verification without becoming completely public. What makes this approach relevant is its ability to connect information from different financial environments. A tokenized asset might depend on assets held offchain, while other parts of its financial position can be inspected directly onchain. Primus PoR is designed to verify these portfolios while maintaining confidentiality around sensitive financial information. This creates a practical distinction between revealing financial records and proving that a reserve claim is supported. For institutions, that distinction could make privacy-preserving verification more suitable for real financial operations. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗜𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗱 The figures shared by Primus provide some context for its current adoption: - $72M+ in assets verified - 4 production projects across RWA and stablecoin use cases - Reserve verification for Unitas Labs' USDu and Perena USD These examples connect the technology to financial products where reserve confidence is important. As stablecoins become more integrated into financial activity, users will increasingly expect better ways to assess the assets supporting them. Periodic reports will still have a place, but they should not be the only source of reserve confidence. The real opportunity is making verification more accessible while protecting the information institutions cannot reasonably publish. That is the direction Primus PoR is working toward. The future of financial transparency should give users stronger evidence, not demand that every private financial detail becomes public.
