AMERICA’S STABLECOIN RULEBOOK TAKES SHAPE On October 21st, 2026 the OCC announced its final rule implementing the GENIUS Act. It sets requirements for payment stablecoin issuers under its jurisdiction covering reserves, redemption, custody, risk management and supervision. For businesses considering stablecoin payments, these rules help answer practical questions. What backs the tokens? How can customers redeem them? Who supervises the issuer? The rule takes effect on January 18th, 2027. There’s still work ahead. Anti money laundering and sanctions requirements will follow separately. The OCC will also announce when it begins accepting issuer applications. For $XRP holders, the potential benefit is indirect. Clearer rules could give institutions more confidence to use stablecoins. Additional XRP demand would depend on where that activity happens and whether XRP serves its liquidity needs. The opportunity is a clearer foundation for adoption. Actual usage is the next test. #Stablecoins #GENIUSAct #XRP
